Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the fundamentals of point-of-care ultrasound in acute care settings.
2. Perform key ultrasound examinations:
* Cardiac ultrasound for rapid assessment of cardiac function and hemodynamics.
* Lung ultrasound to identify common acute pathologies.
* Abdominal ultrasound to detect free fluid and conduct basic organ assessments.
* Venous ultrasound for DVT assessment.
3. Interpret ultrasound findings in various acute care scenarios.
4. Apply ultrasound in clinical decision-making during acute care assessments and management (e.g., using ultrasound to guide fluid management, assess volume status, and support resuscitation in acutely ill patients).
